I Pledge

By now most of you should have seen this video;

known as the I Pledge video. In this video, the viewer is asked (several times) what is YOUR pledge?? Well, I'm going to tell you. I have taken several pledges and an oath or two, and I am ready to do so again. I shall start with an Oath, this is the exact same oath I took in Buffalo, NY on 24 Jun 1985...

I, Donald Kinney, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Every enlisted serviceman has taken the exact same oath since 5 Oct 1962, nowhere in that oath, or in our subsequent service were we, or have we been absolved of that oath.

My dear reader, you are probably wondering when/if I am going to get to the pledge I promised, well here it is,

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under GOD, indivisible, with Liberty,and Justice for all.

So there you have it, and oath and a pledge all wrapped up in a nifty little blog.
